Welcome to our
Student and Tutor Spotlight!
Each quarter, we will feature an awesome Wonder Math student and tutor, with a Q&A sharing their thoughts on our interactive, confidence-building math program. Students and tutors are selected based on their enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and overall progress. This quarter, student Micah and tutor Clare are shining examples of that!
Congratulations! We’re so excited that you’re part of the Wonder Math family and by sharing your experiences, you’re helping others learn about the importance of our program. Let’s celebrate our spotlight winners this season! Stay tuned for our next spotlight.

What do you love most about working with students in Wonder Math?
One of my favorite things about working with students in Wonder Math is watching their growth over time. It’s incredibly rewarding to see second graders blossom into confident, capable math learners as they progress through the program. By the time they reach 5th grade, many students have developed strong problem-solving skills and a true sense of confidence in their abilities, which is a testament to the effectiveness of the program.
In what ways have you witnessed Wonder Math boost the confidence of your students?
I’ve witnessed Wonder Math not only boost students’ confidence in math but also in reading through the stories we incorporate into our lessons. The storytelling aspect creates real engagement, sparking curiosity and excitement that keeps students eager to return each week. This combination of math and narrative helps build a deeper understanding, while fostering a love for learning and boosting their overall confidence.
What are your best tips for getting into the school routine?
Two of my best tips for getting back into the school routine are: first, create a designated learning area at home, stocked with fun and engaging supplies to make working on homework and educational activities more enjoyable. Second, make reading a part of the daily routine, whether through independent reading or reading together. This helps reinforce learning and keeps their minds active outside of school.
